Julie Strub was born on October 22, 1989 in Alsace (France).
After studying graphic communication, graduating from the Tolbiac bookbinding school in Paris, she continued her training with the Dispositif de Transmission des savoir-faire rare et d'excellence with the Fédération Régionale des Métiers d'Art d'Alsace (F.RE.M.A.) as well as in Anne Giordan's binding workshop. Passionate about typography, lettering, graphics, her decorations are imbued with this personal and original touch.
An enthusiastic traveler, her experiences around the world are what shape both her artistic content and her outlook on life. Having been self-employed for 11 years now, she continues this quest for learning in her training:
in 2020 and 2021 in the workshop of master bookbinder Luigi Castiglioni, in 2021 with Hélène Jolis around the inlays.
His work has been distinguished on several occasions, notably in 2011 with the City Prize at the Biennale Mondiale competition for art binding in the Vallée de Chevreuse and then in 2013 with the First Prize of the European Union at the Biennale Mondiale competition. of art binding in Vallée de Chevreuse.

This is why I like to play with letters whose delicacy and multiple shapes allow movement on a book like musical notes on a score.
